The
Mulligan Tour made its way to Deer Track Golf Club in Elyria this past
Saturday. The 3 players
who showed the most improvement in their initial rounds finished in
the top 3.
Jeff
Hillgoth had an epic turnaround, earning a whopping 43 points,
capturing first place by a landslide.
Jeff opened the year with a 123 at Cherokee Hills and improved
by 37 strokes, shooting an 86 on his way to victory.
Please inform all of us where you were taking your lessons!
Rob
Parolin improved by 14 strokes over his last performance, earning a 2nd
place finish. Rob was the
benefactor of the Stableford system, as he had the 3rd best
Net Score (Jeff had the best, then Dan, then Rob).
That
left Dan Gibel to capture 3rd place with the low round of
the year with a 78, 10 strokes better than his Cherokee Hills
performance. Dan also picked up an EASY skin with a birdie on #15; the
next best score was a bogey.
Ken
Schley picked up a skin on the 16th hole with a par.
For some reason, 15 and 16 averaged a double bogey, making them
the 2 most difficult holes.
Peter
Rodenhauser continued his skin stampede from Thunderbird, and picked
up 2 more with birdies on #11 and #18.
Finally,
a big congratulations to Jake Zapolink, who scored the only 8 point
Double Eagle with his birdie (NET 0) on the par 3 third hole, which
also earned him a skin.
Brian
Murch captured both closest to the pins, although he failed to convert
them to birdies. Tim
Grady and champ Jeff Hillgoth were the long-hitters, hitting massive
drives on #9 and #15, respectively.
Year
to date, Dave Wilson and Brian Murch are tied for first place with 37
points each. Joe Scuer is
close behind with 36 points. Ron
Vontroba and Ken Schley round out the top five with 26 points each.
