Briarwood
(2 man Best Ball and Skins)
Saturday June 28,
2003
The
Mulligan Tour had its first team event of the year out at Briarwood in
Broadview Heights. After a
poor showing at Roses Run, some of the new Tour members made there
presence felt this week.
The
eldest members on Tour, George Herrling and Dick Neroda overcame an
early team bogey on number 2, to shoot an amazing best ball score of 57.
George and Dick also had the best net team score.
In
second place was the team of Roy Munk and Danielle Folliet., the
youngest team on the course. After
a team bogey on #13, Roy and Danielle caught fire, going six under on
their final five holes (all courtesy of Danielle!) to finish one shot
behind with a 58.
In
third was the other male-female combination this week of Melissa Sikora
and Michael Thompson. Melissa
and Mike shot an amazing net 28
on the back side to finish in third place with a best ball total of 60.
For
the skins, 25 players participated and there were a total of five skins.
While hole #2 was one of the easier holes of the day, Michael
Thompson was the only person to record a birdie.
Kevin Major’s shot on the par 3 5th hole land two
feet away from the cup and he made the put for a birdie.
Dave Hawk recorded the only birdie on the par 3 9th
hole for a skin. Chuck Nagy
opened the back nine with a birdie on the par 5 10th hole for
his first skin of the season. As
with Kevin, Craig Chenevey hit a tight shot on the 17th and
tapped it in for a birdie and the final skin of the day.
